The team behind the success of The Caravan is your hotel’s ultimate partner.
After two years of a pandemic, constant reassessments and ongoing re-evaluations, no one can dispute the fact that the tourism and travel industry as a whole has undergone unprecedented changes, demanding flexibility and adaptability from everyone involved.
The new era of tourism comes with new needs — needs that have either emerged or been brought to the forefront by the instability of recent years, which continues despite the encouraging signs. Today, more than ever, the ability to respond quickly has become crucial, and the time is right for partnerships that can support more effective management of the current landscape.
This is particularly important because, as technological challenges continue to grow exponentially, it is becoming increasingly difficult for hoteliers to keep up with them. Within this context, companies such as Reminds Hospitality are stepping in to address the additional needs of tourism businesses, proving to be a valuable resource both for the challenges of today and for the future.
However, Reminds Hospitality is not a product of the pandemic crisis. The company was founded in 2017 and specializes in managing small and distinctive tourism businesses of up to 60 rooms, as well as individual, high-end holiday residences and villas. Its goal is to maximize profitability while simultaneously maximizing guest satisfaction.
In 2022, the need for outsourcing partnerships appeared more pressing than ever. As George Kourtidis, Co-Founder and Sales Director of Reminds, explains, the tourism market has experienced a major disruption that has made the tourism product particularly vulnerable. Bookings are increasingly becoming last-minute, while uncertainty continues to challenge industry professionals.
It is precisely in this environment that the expertise of the Reminds team comes into play. The company has built and operates a highly organized reservations department, offering a comprehensive outsourcing solution for hotel reservations to a trusted partner. This saves business owners valuable time, money and effort, effectively freeing them from a significant operational burden and allowing them to focus on what matters most: the day-to-day guest experience.
This is the role of Reminds: to take full responsibility for the sales and reservations of small hospitality businesses, enabling them to expand their capabilities by leveraging the company’s expertise and specialized services. In doing so, smaller properties can compete on equal terms within the market with larger establishments that have access to greater human resources.
The services offered by Reminds, however, extend far beyond reservations management. The company provides a comprehensive partnership that begins with positioning a property in the market and ultimately leads to guest satisfaction.
“Our goal is to achieve maximum sales growth — in other words, to increase the property’s revenue — by first establishing the right online presence across all relevant channels. We then closely monitor the entire competitive landscape of each individual market and implement highly accurate, dynamic pricing on a daily basis. This typically leads to exponential sales growth,” explains Harry Papadopoulos, Co-Founder and Managing Director.
In addition to full property management, the company’s services include staff training, concept upgrades, Mystery Guest services and a range of consulting solutions.
The success story of The Caravan
Today, Reminds has offices in Athens, Thessaloniki and Barcelona. However, the company’s journey began with an exceptionally successful project: The Caravan, which first opened its doors in Thessaloniki in 2017 with 17 rooms — a true challenge for the city’s hospitality market.
Reminds was initially brought in to undertake the property’s rebranding, take over the entire reservations and sales operation, and subsequently proceed with its full management.
The results proved the strategy right, creating one of the city’s most notable hospitality case studies. Through targeted initiatives that were highly innovative for the Thessaloniki market at the time, Reminds led — and continues to lead — the property on a steady growth trajectory.
Since 2017, the small property has consistently ranked among the top-rated accommodations on Booking.com and among the 25 best traditional guesthouses in Greece on Tripadvisor, reaching 3rd place in 2021.
At the end of 2021, The Caravan was also awarded the Silver Award in the “Best Greek Hotel Breakfast” category at the Greek Hospitality Awards, following the launch of a unique breakfast concept and a distinctive selection of Greek-inspired recipes within its Brunch offering.
The results speak for themselves. With Reminds Hospitality managing The Caravan B&B in its entirety from 2017 to the present day, the property has achieved:
- 75% increase in total revenue
- 400% increase in F&B sales, following the design and implementation of the Caravan Café Brunch concept
A company such as Reminds — one whose very purpose is built around collaboration — could only operate through a strong and well-connected team.
“The goal of Reminds is not to bring a hospitality business under its own umbrella, but to operate as a supportive and ‘silent’ force for growth and momentum,” concludes Effie Moraiti, Director of Operations at Reminds, leaving the property itself in the starring role.
